Barden Family Orchard was established in 1931 by John and Hazel Barden. Tha farm was leased in 1989 and then finally purchased by his grandson Gilbert Barden, Jr in 2000. Building on the knowledge shared by Gil's grandfather, our farm operation has become diverse. Customers come to the orchard to pick their own apples, peaches raspberries and pumpkins. Families enjoy the freedom of roaming through the orchard during their visit. The "you pick" season extends from August with raspberries and apples,September with a large variety of white and yellow peaches and 9 varieties of apples, October with a few late peaches an additional 8 varieties of apples and pumpkins into early November with delicious late apples that will store for the winter. We also grow other produce including; sweet corn, summer squash and zucchini, tomatoes, plums, nectarines, eggplant winter squash, cucumbers and other assorted crops.

2007 was a great year for Barden Family Orchard. We opened our new Farm Market in August, and continued our involvement in the farm to school program. Blueberries are now growing and are planned for the 2009 picking season! We hope that you and your family will come out this year and see our farm.
