Our Mission and Vision

Who We Are

The Rhode Island Center for Agricultural Promotion and Education (RICAPE). RICAPE is an independent non-profit 501(c) (3) organization that provides resources and services to farmers, gardeners, agricultural professionals, educators, chefs and business and community leaders dedicated to sustaining agriculture and education about it.

Our Mission

The Center's mission is to keep viable Rhode Island's farm communities, strengthen pride of place and enhance quality of life. We do so by reinforcing the connections between people and agriculture through programs and activities that nurture our young, build awareness, inspire engagement, cultivate knowledge, values and skills and promote jobs, careers and community service.

RICAPE is the 2009 Edible Communities Non-Profit of the Year for it's "outstanding contributions to the local food movement in Rhode Island."

In accordance with Federal law and US Department of Agriculture policy, RICAPE does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
